Joe Walsh and Zac Brown to Mega Mentor on The Voice Season 28 as NBC Reveals Exciting New Mic Drop Button

In a significant announcement for fans of NBC’s singing competition, “The Voice,” Joe Walsh and Zac Brown have been named mega mentors for Season 28. This marks a new chapter in the show as both artists bring their extensive musical experience to the competition.
Introduction of Mega Mentors
Zac Brown, known as the lead vocalist of the Grammy Award-winning Zac Brown Band, will join the coaching teams of Michael Bublé and Snoop Dogg. Meanwhile, Joe Walsh, a prominent member of the Eagles, will team up with Niall Horan and Reba McEntire. Coaches will have eight artists entering the Knockouts, which commence on Monday, October 27, 2023. This round intensifies the competition, as there are no saves or steals available.
How the Knockouts Work
During the Knockout rounds, each coach selects only one artist to advance to the Playoffs, the stage preceding the Live Shows. This adds pressure on contestants, enhancing the drama of the competition.
Introducing the Mic Drop Button
In this season, “The Voice” will feature an exciting new element: the “Mic Drop” button. Each coach will have the opportunity to press this button when an artist delivers an exceptional performance. Viewers will then be able to vote for their favorite “Mic Drop” artist from the four competing teams.
- The artist with the highest viewer votes will perform at the prestigious Rose Parade.
- This event is scheduled for January 1, 2026, adding glamour to the competition.
