Country superstar set to dominate iconic Strip venue in a major way

Country music sensation Luke Combs is set to enhance the entertainment landscape of the Las Vegas Strip. He will co-headline with Blake Shelton at a new venue, titled Category 10, developed in partnership with Opry Entertainment Group. This venue will take over the location previously occupied by Margaritaville at the Flamingo, which closed in April 2024. The grand opening is planned for the fall of 2026.

Category 10: A New Era for The Strip

Category 10 is the second location for Opry Entertainment Group, following the success of Shelton’s Ole Red at the Horseshoe. Since its opening, Ole Red has become a celebrated destination for country music fans.

The new venue, named after Combs’ hit song “Hurricane,” aims to create a vibrant atmosphere for fans and visitors alike. It will feature a range of entertainment and dining experiences tailored to celebrate country music culture.

Venue Features

  • Hurricane Hall: This main dining area will include three bars, a central stage, and a dance floor, offering an immersive audio-visual experience with live performances.
  • The Beautiful Crazy Women’s Lounge: Located within the women’s restroom, this unique lounge will feature a champagne bar and makeup counters.
  • The Still: Positioned on the second floor, this area will offer a wide selection of bourbons curated by Combs, along with outdoor patio space overlooking the Strip.
  • The Eye Rooftop: Featuring a DJ booth and dance floor, this rooftop bar will provide stunning views of the Las Vegas Strip.

Construction for Category 10 is already underway, driven by the success of country music venues and a growing fan base in Las Vegas. Opry Entertainment Group CEO Colin Reed emphasized the strategic importance of this venue, especially given Luke Combs’ popularity and the United Kingdom’s status as a leading market for international visitors to Las Vegas.

Combs also announced a major tour stop at Allegiant Stadium on March 21, as part of his “My Kinda Saturday Night” tour. Excitement continues to build around the Category 10 venue, as Combs expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating it provides fans, known as the Bootleggers, a dedicated space to enjoy live country music.

The Future of Entertainment on The Strip

The development of Category 10 is part of a broader transformation at the Flamingo. Caesars Entertainment recently completed renovations, enhancing the entertainment offerings in the area. The addition of this venue represents an ongoing commitment to bring world-class experiences to Las Vegas.

As the Strip welcomes Category 10, the fusion of dining and live music promises an exciting new chapter for both country music fans and Las Vegas visitors.
