Cork Airport Prepares for 62000 Travelers During Thrilling Bank Holiday Jazz Festival
The upcoming days at Cork Airport promise a lively atmosphere as festival goers arrive for the highly anticipated Guinness Cork Jazz Festival. This year marks the 47th edition of the festival, and Cork Airport is proud to be an official festival partner.
Cork Airport Expects Increased Passenger Traffic
On the busiest day of the bank holiday weekend, expected Friday, passenger traffic is projected to be 12% higher than during the same time last year. Overall, around 62,000 travelers are expected to flow through the airport during this exciting festival weekend.
Festival Highlights
The festivities will include live performances in the airport terminal as part of the festival’s ‘Big Fringe’. Local bands, including:

Start of the Winter Schedule
This bank holiday weekend also signals the commencement of Cork Airport’s winter schedule, which will continue until March. During this period, over 1.4 million tickets will become available for various destinations including:

Growing Airport Traffic
Cork Airport management is optimistic about traffic growth. Managing Director Niall MacCarthy expressed enthusiasm for the October Bank Holiday, highlighting how the festival spirit enriches the airport experience with vibrant live performances.
In September, the airport projected its busiest year, with expectations of 3.4 million passengers by the end of 2025. The summer months saw a 15% increase in passengers compared to last year, with approximately 1.1 million travelers recorded between June and August.
