Iranian Kabaddi Teams Score Double Silver at 2025 Asian Youth Games

In a highly competitive finish, Iranian kabaddi teams secured silver medals at the 2025 Asian Youth Games held in Bahrain from October 22 to 31. Both the girls’ and boys’ teams faced strong challenges from their Indian counterparts in the finals.

Results of the Finals

The Iranian girls were overmatched by India, suffering a significant defeat with a final score of 75-21. Earlier in the tournament, they displayed strong performances, defeating several teams:

  • Sri Lanka: 54-26
  • Bangladesh: 33-19
  • Thailand: 61-35

However, they had previously lost to India in the preliminary round with a score of 59-26.

Boys’ Team Performance

The Iranian boys also faced India in the final, narrowly losing 35-32. Their journey to the finals included impressive victories against:

  • Thailand: 72-29
  • Pakistan: 74-21
  • Bahrain: 92-17

Despite their strong showing, the boys suffered defeats to Bangladesh (55-48) and India (46-29) during the preliminary round.

About the Asian Youth Games

The 3rd Asian Youth Games are taking place in Bahrain and serve as qualifiers for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar. Iran has sent a total of 236 athletes to compete in various events throughout the Games.
