Carlton Announces Upcoming Roster Changes

Carlton Football Club has announced upcoming roster changes following the conclusion of the 2023 AFL season. The team will see three significant changes on its playing list.

Carlton’s Recent Roster Changes

Jaxon Binns is set to leave IKON Park after his tenure with the club. Binns, who was selected from the Dandenong Stingrays with pick No. 32 in the 2022 AFL Draft, made his debut in Round 7, 2024, against Geelong. Over the course of his time with Carlton, Binns played a total of eight games.

Players Under Consideration

Will White and Elijah Hollands are both being evaluated for potential pre-season training roles. The decision regarding their status will be influenced by the upcoming draft in November.

  • Elijah Hollands: Joined Carlton through a trade with the Gold Coast Suns on the last day of the 2023 trade period. He has appeared in 27 matches over two seasons.
  • Will White: Originally recruited from the Carlton Reserves, White earned his position on the AFL list during the pre-season Supplemental Selection Period. This year, he has played 14 games and made his AFL debut in Round 4 against Collingwood.

Management’s Statement

Nick Austin, Carlton’s Head of List Management, commented on these changes. He noted the difficulty of these decisions and emphasized that the club’s future strategy guided their choices. Austin extended his best wishes to Binns and mentioned that while White and Hollands do not have guaranteed spots for 2026, the club will consider them for training opportunities after the draft.

As the season progresses, Carlton aims to refine its roster in alignment with its strategic goals, focusing on the best outcomes for the club and its players.
