Amazon Unveils Enhanced Luna Game-Streaming Service
Amazon has announced significant enhancements to its game-streaming service, Amazon Luna. The updated platform features a variety of new beginner-friendly multiplayer games that can be played using mobile phones. Notably, these enhancements are available to Prime members at no additional cost.
Introduction of GameNight
The most noteworthy update is the introduction of GameNight. This collection includes more than 25 local multiplayer games specifically designed to facilitate social gaming experiences for friends and families.
- Exclusive Titles: GameNight is set to debut with original games developed by Amazon Game Studios.
- Highlighted Game: “Courtroom Chaos: Starring Snoop Dogg” is an AI-driven improv game where players create character stories and defend their testimonies in front of Judge Snoop Dogg.
- Additional Titles: Other games in the GameNight collection include “Angry Birds Flock Party,” “Draw & Guess,” “The Jackbox Party Pack 9,” “Ticket to Ride,” “Exploding Kittens 2,” “Clue,” and “Tetris Effect: Connected.”
Focus on Accessibility
The revamped service aims to encourage Prime members to choose Luna for their game nights. Jeff Gattis, the general manager of Amazon Luna, highlighted that GameNight offers an assortment of fun and accessible games. He noted, “Anyone with a smartphone can dive right in and have a blast, regardless of their gaming abilities.”
Expanded Game Library
In addition to the new multiplayer features, Luna continues to offer a diverse library of titles, including:
- “Hogwarts Legacy”
- “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle”
- “Kingdom Come: Deliverance II”
- “TopSpin 2K25”
These games, along with others outside the GameNight library, still require a controller or mouse and keyboard for play.
Subscription Details
Players interested in accessing a broader selection of games can opt for Luna Premium, previously known as Luna+. This subscription costs $9.99 per month and includes titles such as:
- “EA SPORTS FC 25”
- “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor”
- “Batman: Arkham Knight”
