The latest rollout applies to Gemini’s app on Android and iOS devices, as well as its web version. Previously, the model picker was positioned underneath the “Gemini” label at the top of the app. Now, it has been integrated into the prompt bar for a more intuitive experience.

• On mobile devices, the model switcher is located in the bottom-right corner, alongside the Gemini Live feature and voice input.
• The microphone button is now enclosed in a circular design, enhancing its visibility.

• The font size of the sheet has been increased for better readability.

For web users, the change is reflected in a straightforward “Choose your model” dropdown menu. This centralization of controls allows for easy model switching within the same conversation, significantly improving reachability for mobile users.

The Gemini model switcher redesign is being rolled out across all platforms, including web, iOS, and Android. This update is part of Google app version 16.42, which is currently in beta testing.
