Eagles’ A.J. Brown Misses Practice; Coach Sirianni Addresses Game Readiness
Star receiver A.J. Brown is sidelined for the upcoming matchup against the New York Giants. He is officially listed as out due to a hamstring injury, marking the third consecutive day he has missed practice. Despite earlier comments from Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni suggesting Brown might play without practicing, his game status remains uncertain.
A.J. Brown’s Practice Status
During Friday’s practice, Brown stood on the sidelines in sweatpants while his teammates engaged in drills. He participated in light activity with a trainer on Thursday and observed the practice session on Wednesday. Coach Sirianni remarked on Brown’s situation, noting, “Everybody has different scenarios,” regarding players who may participate after not practicing.
Injury Report Overview
In addition to Brown, several other players are also expected to miss Sunday’s game:
- Cam Jurgens (center, knee) – out
- Adoree’ Jackson (cornerback, concussion) – out
- Azeez Ojulari (edge rusher, hamstring) – out
- Darius Cooper (wide receiver, shoulder) – questionable
Brandon Graham, who recently unretired, will not be activated for this game. Additionally, the Giants face their own injury concerns. Top edge rusher Brian Burns is listed as questionable but returned to limited practice after sitting out earlier in the week. Starting cornerback Paulson Adebo and rotational edge rusher Chauncey Golston have been declared out, while starting safety Jevon Holland is doubtful.
Player Replacements
Brett Toth is set to make his first career start at center in place of Jurgens, and Kelee Ringo will replace Jackson at cornerback. Ringo has already started in two games this season, accumulating 184 defensive snaps across seven games.
As the Eagles prepare at Lincoln Financial Field, they aim to secure a victory against the Giants despite these key absences. Coach Sirianni remains optimistic yet cautious about players’ commitment to the game plan, particularly concerning Brown’s potential involvement.
