The 2025 baseball award season is shaping up to be exciting for the Milwaukee Brewers. Brice Turang, William Contreras, and Christian Yelich have been recognized as finalists for the prestigious Louisville Slugger Silver Slugger Award. This award, determined by votes from National League managers and coaches, honors the most outstanding offensive players at their respective positions.

Recent Team Transaction
In addition to the excitement surrounding the awards, the Brewers made a recent move by claiming left-handed pitcher Sammy Peralta off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels. Peralta, aged 27, recorded an 0-1 record with a 7.59 ERA and a WHIP of 1.88 in five bullpen appearances in the past season. Over three major league seasons, he has a 2-1 record with a 5.12 ERA and 37 strikeouts in 45⅔ innings.
Voting Process for the Silver Slugger Award
According to Louisville Slugger, the selection of finalists and winners involves a voting process. Each National League team submits votes from the manager and three chosen coaches. Factors like offensive statistics—including OPS, batting average, total bases, and general impressions of each player’s performance—play a crucial role in the voting.
As the postseason approaches, the performance and recognition of these Brewers’ players reflect their significant contributions to the season.
