Arrest of Accused Stalker Akil Khan
The accused, identified as Akil Khan, was apprehended following a complaint from the Australian security team. A bystander had noted the number of Khan’s motorcycle, which aided police in his arrest.
Details of the Incident
Rajesh Dandotiya, additional DCP of the crime branch in Indore, confirmed the filing of a complaint on the same day. The case was registered under sections 74 and 78 of the BNS Act, which pertains to assault or criminal force on a woman with intent to outrage her modesty and stalking.

- The security manager of the Australian team, Danny Simmons, lodged a complaint at MIG police station later that evening.
According to the FIR, one of the players sent a distress message to Simmons at 11:08 a.m., indicating that a man on a motorcycle had approached them. Moments later, they attempted to grab one of the players before fleeing when confronted.

Simmons reported that one player texted him, stating, “Hey SoS, just sending you my live location… there’s a guy following us trying to grab us.” Following this, the team’s liaison officers were informed, and police patrol units arrived promptly to escort the cricketers back to their hotel.

The Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) expressed concern over the incident. They are reviewing protocols regarding how players navigated outside the secured areas. MPCA Chief Administrative Officer Rohit Pandit mentioned the need for examination of circumstances surrounding the players’ movements.
