Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit confirmed the news of Shah’s passing on social media. In an emotional video, he detailed the circumstances of Shah’s death, noting that the actor fell ill at home. He was rushed to Hinduja Hospital in Shivaji Park where he eventually passed away due to kidney failure.

Pandit expressed his sorrow, stating, “It is a huge loss for our industry. I have worked a lot with Satish. He was a great man.” He also shared that Shah’s body would be taken to his residence in Bandra.

The Cine and TV Artistes Association (CINTAA), where Shah had been a member since 1985, conveyed their condolences on Instagram. They wrote, “CINTAA expresses its condolences on the demise of Satish Shah ji.”

Satish Shah is survived by his wife, Madhu Shah, who is a designer. His last social media post, shared on X (formerly Twitter), featured a tribute to actor Shammi Kapoor, stating, “Happy B’day dearest Shammi ji. You are always around me.”
