Early Life and Career
Fr. Dermod was originally from Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim, and spent a portion of his life in Killiney, Co. Dublin. He held the role of Administrator at the Pro-Cathedral in Dublin and served as the Head of Religious Affairs at RTÉ.
Family and Community
He was pre-deceased by his parents, Michael and Vera McCarthy, and his nephew, Michael Darragh. Fr. Dermod is survived by his sister Beth, brothers Mel and Michael, as well as various nephews and nieces including Alan, Eoin, and Ruth. He will be missed by his family, friends, and the caring staff at Our Lady’s Manor.

- Reposing: Smith’s Funeral Home, High St. Ballinamore, on October 24th from 7 PM to 9 PM.
- Funeral Mass: St. Patrick’s Church, Ballinamore on October 25th at 12 noon, followed by burial at Fenagh Abbey Cemetery.
