Exciting Homecoming Festivities Planned for Saturday’s Game Against App State
Old Dominion University is gearing up for its annual Homecoming game, which will take place on Saturday, October 25, at noon against App State. This year, organizers have planned several new amenities and a revised parade route to elevate the gameday experience.

Tailgating lots will open at 8:00 AM, four hours before kickoff. Additionally, Kaufman Mall will also be accessible from the same time. The band Tiki Bar will perform live at Kaufman Mall starting at 8:00 AM. Fitness enthusiasts can participate in a pop-up workout session hosted by OrangeTheory Fitness.
Activities Leading Up to the Game
At 9:45 AM, the Monarch March will proceed from Webb Center to S.B. Ballard Stadium. Following the football team will be the introduction of the Homecoming court and this year’s parade.
For those affected by the federal shutdown, Old Dominion is offering complimentary tickets. Federal, military, and government employees impacted by the shutdown can claim four free tickets for the game. The offer also extends to Sunday’s men’s basketball exhibition against Hampton.
At 10:00 AM, former ODU player and current New Orleans Saints offensive lineman Nick Saldiveri will be signing autographs on Kaufman Mall. Saldiveri, who played at Old Dominion from 2018 to 2022, was drafted in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft and earned All-Conference honors in 2012.
Family-Friendly Activities
The Monarch Masquerade costume parade for children aged 0-12 is scheduled to commence at 10:30 AM on the mall, giving kids a chance to showcase their Halloween costumes.
Food vendors such as Kookie’s Cakes & Shakes and Instrumental Coffee will be present on Kaufman Mall to cater to fans’ morning needs.
Special Merchandise Offerings
Inside the stadium, fans can purchase limited edition YETI Rambler® Tumblers, featuring the ODU racetrack logo. These cups will be available for $50 and can be found on the east side of the stadium near the elevator and the south gate on Saturday.
The Homecoming game against App State will be broadcast on ESPNU and the ODU Sports Network, making it accessible for fans unable to attend in person.
