Whitehead is celebrated for his achievements during his time at the University of Pittsburgh from 2015 to 2017. He was rated as the top recruit in Pennsylvania and played as a defensive back and running back for the Panthers.

Whitehead’s NFL journey began with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he played for four seasons. After winning Super Bowl LV, he transitioned to the New York Jets. His time with the Jets saw him accumulate 186 tackles, six interceptions, and 17 pass breakups.
After a stint with the Jets, Whitehead returned to the Buccaneers on a two-year contract valued at $10.5 million. Over the next season, he tallied 79 tackles and three pass breakups. However, the Buccaneers declined his option for 2025, making him an unrestricted free agent.
