Arapahoe Basin Set to Launch 2025-26 Colorado Ski Season on October 26
Arapahoe Basin Ski Area has officially announced the opening date for the 2025-26 Colorado ski season. Set for October 26, skiers and snowboarders can expect lifts to start running at 8:30 a.m. and continue until 4 p.m., seven days a week, weather permitting. This announcement reflects the resort’s commitment to providing a thrilling winter experience.
Opening Day Details
On the first day of the season, visitors will be able to enjoy the High Noon run, accessible via the Black Mountain Express lift. The mountain plans to enhance the skiing experience further by continuing snowmaking efforts and expanding terrain. Future openings will aim to include the Lenawee Face and Dercum’s Gulch.
Special Events and Giveaways
A variety of festivities are planned for the opening day. Guests can look forward to:

- Donuts for the first guests
- Live music at the base area
Parking will not require reservations on opening day. However, from January 3, 2025, to May 3, 2025, reservations will be mandatory on weekends.
Ikon Pass Updates
Arapahoe Basin Ski Area has introduced changes to the Ikon Pass for the 2025-26 season. The Ikon Base Pass now allows unlimited skiing from the opening day until December 19 without counting against the five-day limit. From December 20 to the end of the season, the base pass will have a five-day limit. Full Ikon Pass holders will continue to enjoy unlimited access.
Alan Henceroth, the president and COO, emphasized the significance of this season for Arapahoe Basin. He noted the importance of welcoming both new guests and returning visitors, stating, “This season is an opportunity for us to show everyone who A-Basin is.”
