As of 7:35 PM, reports indicated that a tree had fallen on a power line at the intersection of 45th SW and SW Hemlock. This incident resulted in power outages affecting 117 homes in the area.

Emergency Response and Traffic Blockages

  • Police are blocking access to streets near the outage location, especially along the switchbacks connecting California SW to Fauntleroy Way SW.
  • By 7:48 PM, another tree was reported down in nearby White Center, blocking Ambaum Boulevard curves.

City Light’s Status and Further Reports

Seattle City Light deployed teams to manage the outage. As of 8:54 PM, over 1,000 customers throughout their service area were without power due to the winds. Around 9:07 PM, emergency services responded to another report of a tree impacting a house in the 8300 block of 46th SW.

Additional Incidents of Fallen Trees

  • A fallen tree was reported at 26th SW and SW Juneau. Police confirmed no injuries but blocked traffic on Juneau at 25th.
  • Residents also reported losing power at 28th SW and SW Thistle.
  • By 9:40 PM, a tree was down near Fairmount and Belvidere, causing additional wire hazards.

Fire crews were dispatched to assist individuals stuck in their vehicles due to a potentially live wire. Fortunately, these incidents concluded without injuries.
