Eagles Face Giants Without WR Brown Due to Hamstring Injury
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown will not play against the New York Giants due to a hamstring injury. This absence marks a significant change for the Eagles ahead of their matchup on Sunday.
A.J. Brown’s Injury and Season Performance
Brown, who has been a key player for the Eagles, finished last week’s game against the Minnesota Vikings with impressive stats. He recorded four receptions for a season-high 121 yards and scored two touchdowns. His standout play included a crucial 45-yard catch from quarterback Jalen Hurts that helped secure a 28-22 victory.
Unfortunately, Brown did not participate in any of the Eagles’ practices this week. Despite Coach Nick Sirianni’s comment on Friday that Brown could potentially play without practice, hamstring injuries often pose a significant risk for setbacks.
Season Statistics
- Receptions: 29
- Receiving Yards: 395
- Touchdowns: 3
Other Player Updates
The Eagles have also confirmed that other notable players will be absent. Starting center Cam Jurgens is sidelined due to a knee injury, while linebacker Azeez Ojulari is out with a hamstring issue. Additionally, cornerback Adoree’ Jackson will not participate due to a concussion.
Brandon Graham, a defensive end who recently came out of retirement, will also miss the game as he was ruled out for the Giants matchup.
Team Dynamics
Despite Brown’s injury and frustrations expressed on social media regarding his role in the offense, Coach Sirianni emphasized that it has been “business as usual” within the team. The Eagles will aim to perform strongly in the absence of their star receiver as they prepare for their upcoming bye week.
