$180,000 Range Rover Stolen in Transport Scam Targeting Shaquille O’Neal
In a concerning incident, NBA icon Shaquille O’Neal has reported the theft of his custom 2025 Land Rover Range Rover, valued at $180,000. The vehicle was stolen during its transportation from Georgia to Louisiana.
Details of the Stolen Range Rover
The Range Rover was undergoing modifications at an auto shop in Dahlonega, Georgia. According to Lumpkin County Sheriff Stacy Jarrard, these modifications included adjustments to the front seat area for O’Neal’s comfort due to his height of 7 feet 1 inch. After the modifications, the vehicle was picked up by a towing company on October 20.
Transport Arrangement and Theft Discovery
Effortless Motors, the California-based company responsible for customizing the vehicle, arranged its transportation. However, they soon realized that the Range Rover never arrived at its destination in Louisiana.
- The vehicle was last traced to Atlanta.
- Investigators have identified several persons of interest.
- Search warrants are active in connection to the case.
Sheriff Jarrard indicated that GPS data hints the vehicle might have been loaded onto a shipping container, possibly headed overseas. FirstLine Trucking LLC, tasked with the transport, revealed that the driver listed for the job was never dispatched. This raises suspicions that someone impersonated the transporter to steal the luxury SUV.
Reward for Information
In a bid to recover the stolen Range Rover, Effortless Motors is offering a reward of $10,000 for any information that leads to its recovery. O’Neal, in discussions with law enforcement, expressed his hope for justice.
Sheriff Jarrard affirmed, “He was really hopeful that someone would be held accountable for the theft.” The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities committed to ensuring justice for the theft of this high-value vehicle.
