Raptors Highlights: Ingram, Barrett, and Murray-Boyles Performances
Brandon Ingram, the former All-Star forward, has faced numerous challenges due to injuries. Last season, he played only 18 games due to a significant ankle sprain. After being traded from New Orleans to the Toronto Raptors in February, he has yet to play in the current 2024/25 season.
Ingram recently shared his struggles with uncertainty around his health. “Going on two months, three months with the ankle. When am I gonna be healthy again?” he said, expressing frustration regarding his recovery process. He has committed to making lifestyle changes in hopes of staying healthy for the upcoming 2025/26 season.
Despite his struggles, Ingram remains a focused athlete. “Most of my injuries have come from overworking,” he explained. He aims to balance intense training with adequate rest to maintain his performance. So far this season, Ingram has stepped into a leadership role within the young Raptors team. “I know my own vision for where I want to be and that’s at the top of the league,” he stated.

In the early stages of the season, Ingram is averaging:
- 22.5 points per game
- 7.5 rebounds per game
- 3.0 assists per game
- 1.0 steal per game
- Shooting percentages: 47.2% from the field, 33.3% from three, and 80.0% from the free-throw line

RJ Barrett’s Extension Talks
RJ Barrett, another key player for the Raptors, was eligible for a contract extension before the current season. However, serious discussions have yet to occur. The team is assessing Barrett’s performance alongside Ingram and teammate Scottie Barnes before making any decisions. Barrett commented, “When you focus on winning and making an impact, that’s how the rest gets taken care of.”
Collin Murray-Boyles’ Injury Status
Collin Murray-Boyles, the Raptors’ recent lottery pick, is dealing with a right forearm strain. He is listed as day-to-day and is questionable for the upcoming game against Dallas. No other players on the Raptors are currently on the injury report.
As the Raptors continue their season, performances from players like Ingram and Barrett will be crucial. Their focus remains on team success while individual health and contract situations are addressed.
