Wisconsin Badgers Release Forward Due to Pre-Enrollment Incidents
The Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball team has officially released senior forward Elijah Gray following an announcement made on Tuesday. His dismissal stems from incidents that took place before his enrollment at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Due to privacy laws, further information regarding the situation remains undisclosed.
Elijah Gray’s Journey to Wisconsin
Elijah Gray was set to embark on his first season with the Wisconsin Badgers after transferring from the Temple Owls. He played one season at Temple, where he participated in 25 games and averaged 9.0 points and 3.8 rebounds in nearly 20 minutes of play.
Before joining Temple, Gray spent two seasons at Fordham University. There he played a total of 61 games, including nine starts. During his sophomore year, he recorded averages of 8.4 points and 3.7 rebounds, showcasing shooting percentages of 42.0% from the field and 76.7% from the free-throw line.
The Badgers’ Reinforcements
Gray’s addition to the Badgers was announced in July and marked him as the final transfer for the 2025-26 season, under the direction of head coach Greg Gard. However, Gray was not ranked as a transfer and did not participate in the first two exhibition games leading up to the new season.
Moving Forward
The Wisconsin Badgers are now looking to adjust their roster as they prepare for the season ahead. The absence of Elijah Gray will require the team to strategize on how to fill the void left by his departure.
