Explore Remembrance Day at Bruce County Museum with Esteemed Author and Historian
The Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre is set to host an event in honor of Remembrance Day this year. Esteemed author and historian Ted Barris will lead a presentation focused on the crucial contributions of Canadian airmen during the Battle of Britain in World War II.
Event Details
The event will take place on Saturday, November 8, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM. This year marks the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, a significant 113-day campaign that commenced in 1940. During this conflict, Canadian pilots played an essential role in defending British skies.
Significant Contributions
- Twenty Canadian pilots lost their lives during the campaign.
- Twelve pilots received the Distinguished Flying Cross for their bravery.
Attendees will enjoy complimentary coffee, tea, and treats during the event. Admission is priced at $10 for museum members and $15 for non-members. Copies of Barris’s book, “The Battle of Britain,” will also be available for purchase.
