Disneyland Shutters 7 Attractions Ahead of Busy Christmas Season
Disneyland will temporarily close seven attractions for seasonal refurbishments as the Anaheim theme park prepares for the bustling Christmas holiday season. This period marks one of the most vibrant times of the year for the resort.
Attractions Closed for Refurbishment
The following attractions will be unavailable to guests during November:
- It’s a Small World
- Redwood Creek Challenge Trail
- Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes
- Sailing Ship Columbia
- Pixie Hollow
- Paint the Night Parade
- Fantasmic!
In addition to these, other attractions like Big Thunder Mountain, Storybook Land Canal Boats, Casey Jr. Circus Train, “Mickey’s PhilharMagic,” and “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln” are already closed for refurbishment.
Specific Closure Dates
Several of the attractions will close for specific periods:
- It’s a Small World: Closed from Oct. 31 to Nov. 13 for its holiday transformation.
- Redwood Creek Challenge Trail: Closed from Nov. 1 to Nov. 13 to remove the Halloween overlay.
- Sailing Ship Columbia: Out of service from Nov. 2 to 6 and Nov. 10 to 13.
- Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes: Closed on Nov. 3 to 6 and Nov. 10 to 13.
- Fantasmic: Will not run on Nov. 2 to 6, Nov. 10 to 13, and Nov. 17 to 20.
- Pixie Hollow: Will be closed on select Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout November.
- Paint the Night Parade: On hiatus from Nov. 10 to Jan. 7.
Holiday Celebrations and Refurbishment
The holiday celebrations include exciting transformations and special entertainment options. Disneyland starts its seasonal festivities while also preparing for high visitor numbers. This balance allows the park to maintain its attractions while extending holiday magic.

Returning Attractions
After a nearly month-long refurbishment, “Mickey’s PhilharMagic” will return to Disney California Adventure on Oct. 31. Additionally, vacationers can look forward to the return of the “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln” show, expected to resume its performances after ongoing renovations.
