Residents of Louisiana, east Texas, southwest Arkansas, and southeast Oklahoma are bracing for strong winds through Wednesday evening. The National Weather Service (NWS) offices in Shreveport and Lake Charles issued a Wind Advisory to alert the public of potentially hazardous conditions.
Wind Advisory Details
The Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 p.m. CDT on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. Forecasters expect sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts reaching up to 40 mph across much of the ArkLaTex region.
Affected Areas
- Shreveport, LA
- Texarkana, TX
- Natchitoches, LA
- Lake Charles, LA
Potential Hazards
Residents are advised to secure loose outdoor objects as they may become airborne due to high winds. Additionally, falling tree limbs and power lines could lead to isolated power outages.
Travel and Boating Precautions
Travel conditions may become challenging, especially for high-profile vehicles. Boaters on local lakes and rivers should exercise caution due to choppy waters caused by the winds.
