• The total amount defrauded was €394,127.
• This includes €130,000 from businessman Denis O’Brien, who believed he was helping Carey with medical expenses.
• Other notable victims include former Clare hurler Tony Griffin and publican Noel Tynan, owner of the Celt Bar in Dublin.
• Tom Brennan, a businessman from Co Laois, also contributed €120,000 in two installments.
