Grand Egyptian Museum Unveils Complete Tutankhamun Collection in Billion-Dollar Opening
The Grand Egyptian Museum, nestled near the iconic pyramids of Giza, is poised to transform Egypt’s cultural landscape. With a staggering investment exceeding one billion dollars, it is set to be the largest museum dedicated to a single civilization.

The museum’s opening ceremony is anticipated to attract a diverse array of monarchs, world leaders, and dignitaries. Upon entering through its magnificent glass façade, visitors will be welcomed into a vast atrium that houses 24,000 square meters (258,000 square feet) of permanent exhibition space. A grand staircase flanked by ancient statues will guide guests to the main galleries, which also offer stunning views of the pyramids.

Tourism Impact and Future Prospects
The opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum is expected to reinvigorate Egypt’s tourism sector, which has struggled in recent years due to political unrest and the pandemic’s aftermath. The government aims to significantly increase tourist numbers, aspiring to reach 30 million visitors by 2032, nearly double the 15.7 million visitors recorded in 2024.
