Leighton Meester, widely recognized for her role as Blair Waldorf in “Gossip Girl,” has revealed that she was unaware of the recent release of her music. Two tracks from her almost two-decade-old music project, “Body Control” and “Your Lies Are the Truth / Almost Perfect,” have recently surfaced on streaming platforms. The songs were originally intended for her unreleased 2009 pop album.

In an exclusive interview, the 39-year-old actress expressed her surprise over the release. “I hate to say, but I don’t exactly know what happened,” Meester admitted. She hinted at the possibility of a contract expiring and being renewed, which might have led to the tracks’ unexpected availability.
Meester has been juggling her career, including a recent television role, which may have contributed to her lack of awareness. “I had a show come out this year, so I just hadn’t really paid attention,” she explained. Chart Success and Musical Evolution
