Soccer sensation Haaland fuels up on steak and milk at local farm watch now
Soccer sensation Erling Haaland recently shared a glimpse into his daily routine, highlighting the importance of quality food sources. In his debut video as a YouTuber, he visited Greenoaks Farm in Mobberley, Cheshire, en route to training. During this outing, he picked up milk and left with several cuts of beef and jars of honey, all sourced from the local farm.
Visit to Greenoaks Farm
Haaland, who plays for Manchester City and the Norwegian national team, is currently the top scorer in the Premier League. At Greenoaks Farm, he learned about the farm’s operation. Greenoaks is a cow with calf micro dairy that milks 16 cows. The calves remain with their mothers until weaning and are raised on the farm for about two years before being sent to a local butcher.
Farm Products and Practices
- Produces pasteurized and unpasteurized milk.
- Offers flavored milk, beef, and honey from on-site hives.
- Started operations in November 2019 with only three cows.
- Expanded to 16 cows and sells up to 200 liters of milk daily despite pandemic challenges.
Haaland’s Thoughts on Quality Food
During his visit, Haaland emphasized his preference for high-quality beef. “I like fatty steaks the most – ribeye, tomahawk, and especially short ribs,” he explained. He believes that the care given to livestock significantly impacts the quality of the meat. “It’s good quality, and they take good care of the animals, which is also important,” he stated.
Future Engagement with the Farm
A member of Haaland’s entourage playfully inquired about his ability to help with milking cows. Helen, a representative from Greenoaks Farm, expressed confidence in Haaland’s potential skills, suggesting that he could try his hand at milking during a future visit.
A Satisfying Experience
As he departed, Haaland joyfully declared, “Meat in one hand, milk in the other, I’m super happy.” His visit showcased a satisfying blend of locally sourced foods that he greatly appreciates. Post-visit, he was quick to enjoy the freshly bought meat, barbecuing it with his partner, Isabel Johansen, who is also a soccer player.
At just 25, Haaland has distinguished himself as one of the world’s top footballers. His preference for high-quality, locally sourced meat and dairy seems to contribute positively to his athletic performance.
