The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is nearing the conclusion of Phase 6, culminating in a significant reset of its multiverse narrative. Major Marvel Blockbuster Absent from IMAX’s 2026 Lineup

As anticipation builds for 2026, industry insiders focus on upcoming releases. IMAX recently announced that “Avengers: Doomsday” will make its way to theaters. However, not all Marvel films will follow suit. Notably, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” which is currently in production, will not be featured in IMAX cinemas.

Release Details and Plot Information

  • Director: Destin Daniel Cretton

This film marks Tom Holland’s return to the MCU following the conclusion of “Spider-Man: No Way Home” in 2021. “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is set to be the final solo character film for the MCU before the major ensemble events of “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars.”

Returning Characters and New Faces

While specifics on the plot remain closely guarded, several key characters will make their return:

  • Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk
  • Jon Bernthal as Punisher

Additionally, Sadie Sink is confirmed to join the cast in an undisclosed role, adding further intrigue to the film’s storyline.

Future of the MCU

The Marvel franchise is set to kick off the new year with the “Wonder Man” TV show premiering on Disney+ in January 2026. This series will pave the way for an exciting 2026 for Marvel fans, despite some major blockbusters like “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” not being available in IMAX theaters.
