Brad Keselowski Stays with NASCAR, Dismisses Cup Exit for IMSA Dreams
Brad Keselowski, a prominent figure in NASCAR, has confirmed his commitment to full-time Cup Series participation. He dismissed any thoughts of stepping back to focus exclusively on aspirations to own an IMSA Hypercar team, contingent on Ford’s plans for 2027.
Keselowski’s Cup Series Commitment
The 41-year-old RFK Racing co-owner expressed his passion for the Cup Series. “I love the Cup Series. I don’t want an off-ramp,” Keselowski stated, reinforcing his dedication to the sport. He transitioned into team ownership by acquiring a stake in Roush Fenway Racing, which is now RFK Racing. This move marked a significant change in his career path, allowing him to compete full-time in the No. 6 Ford, starting in the 2022 season.
IMSA Aspirations and Future Goals
While Keselowski is committed to racing in the Cup Series, he is also interested in developing an IMSA team. He mentioned ongoing discussions about Ford’s anticipated Hypercar, which aims to compete in Le Mans and possibly U.S. events. “If the opportunity opens up, RFK would love to be a part of it,” he remarked.
Challenges Faced This Season
This season, RFK Racing experienced challenges, including inconsistent performances. Keselowski demonstrated speed but struggled with overall finishes and did not secure a victory. His teammates, Chris Buescher and Ryan Preece, also did not qualify for the playoffs.
