In early December, New Jersey will experience its coldest temperatures, easing briefly in January before another cold spell arrives in February. Despite being a chilly winter, temperatures are projected to be 1-2 degrees warmer than historical averages.

Snowfall Predictions

AccuWeather anticipates that snowfall will be heavier at the start and end of the winter season. Here’s what to expect:

Winter storms are expected to originate from Canada and the Midwest, moving toward the mid-Atlantic and Northeast.
By late winter, storms will shift across the Plains and Mississippi Valley, impacting the East Coast.
Philadelphia might see between 14-18 inches of snowfall, compared to last year’s total of 8.1 inches.
The historical average snowfall for Philadelphia stands at 23.1 inches.

Community Support During the Winter

As families prepare for the colder months, initiatives like Give A Christmas provide critical support to low-income households in Burlington County. This annual campaign is designed to assist families with basic needs during the holiday season.

Last year’s campaign raised $68,050, supporting 530 families with $50 Amazon gift cards.
Applications for the program are open until November 28, with required documents due by December 5.
Families can apply by visiting the Burlington County Times website or texting “GAC” to 898-211.

Supporters of the campaign can donate any amount, regardless of their location, with no deadline for contributions. Funds donated after December 25 will be allocated for next year’s initiative.
