Boxer Davis Faces Lawsuit Over New Domestic Allegations
Boxer Gervonta “Tank” Davis is facing a new civil lawsuit amid allegations of domestic violence. This legal action was filed in Miami-Dade County just weeks before his scheduled exhibition fight with Jake Paul on November 14.
Details of the Lawsuit
The lawsuit, initiated by his ex-girlfriend Courtney Rossel, includes serious accusations. Rossel claims Davis committed battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Her attorney, Jeffery Chukwuma, confirmed that a report was filed with the Miami Gardens Police Department.
Allegations from the Incident
The lawsuit describes an incident that took place early on a Monday morning at Tootsies, a gentlemen’s club in Miami. Rossel alleges that Davis entered the club and assaulted her in a private area without cameras. Following the attack, she claims Davis dragged her through a stairwell and kitchen before assaulting her in the parking garage.
Rossel states that they were in a five-month relationship, during which she experienced multiple instances of domestic violence and threats to her safety. She mentions at least four previous incidents where Davis “physically assaulted and choked” her.
Threats and Previous Incidents
- The first incident occurred on September 2, when Davis allegedly threatened Rossel’s life for not responding to his messages.
- A second event happened on September 23, when he accused her of infidelity and texted, “I’ll kill you.” This was followed by a physical assault where Davis choked her publicly.
After the latest incident, Davis reportedly sent Rossel a message stating, “I’m on my way! To ya house,” which raised her fears of further violence.
Impact on Davis and Fight Schedule
Rossel claims she is now suffering from PTSD, anxiety, and extreme fear due to her experiences with Davis. She is currently living with others for safety and is pursuing therapy for the psychological and physical harm inflicted upon her.
The lawsuit demands compensatory and punitive damages, alongside a request for a jury trial. Historically, Davis has had several legal issues, including charges of domestic violence and a 2023 hit-and-run incident that resulted in house arrest and probation.
As the November 14 fight approaches, there is uncertainty about whether these allegations will affect Davis’s participation. Representatives for Davis and Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions have yet to comment on the situation.
