Staffing Issues Cause FAA Ground Delay at DFW Airport
                                The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has enacted a ground delay for flights heading to DFW International Airport, primarily due to staffing issues. As per FAA reports, this has led to an average delay of 18 minutes for departing flights.
Details of the Ground Delay
The ground delay is set to remain in effect until 9:59 p.m. today. Zachary Greiner, a DFW Airport spokesperson, stated, “The FAA implements air traffic management programs based on its capacity for safe operations.” He advised travelers to check with their airlines for flight status.
Current Flight Status at DFW Airport
- As of 3 p.m., DFW Airport had recorded 301 flight delays.
 - There were also two flight cancellations reported.
 
DFW serves as a critical hub for American Airlines. The ongoing government shutdown, now at its 27th day, has caused similar delays at various major airports across the U.S.

Reports indicated that the FAA has had to limit takeoffs into Dallas due to these staffing shortages. These issues have also affected an air traffic control center for the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Meanwhile, operations at Dallas Love Field, the main base for Southwest Airlines, remained unaffected as of Monday afternoon.
