Man Confronts Train Knifeman and Is Shocked by His Words
A horrifying incident unfolded on a London-bound LNER Azuma train on November 2, 2025, leaving two passengers in critical condition. The attack occurred shortly after the train departed from Peterborough station, where many passengers experienced sheer panic.
Eyewitness Account of the Attack
Dayna Arnold, a 48-year-old project manager, and her partner, Andy Gray, a 37-year-old site manager, were witnesses to this terrifying scene. They were seated in Coach J, far from the attacker, at the time the chaos erupted.
Within minutes, Dayna became separated from Andy as other passengers fled. As she fell to the ground, she encountered the assailant, who was wielding a six-inch kitchen knife. She pleaded for her life, saying, “Please don’t kill me.” The attacker reportedly replied, “The Devil is not going to win.”
Victim’s Struggle for Survival
Meanwhile, Andy described the horror he witnessed as he tried to help another young man who had been stabbed. He recounted seeing blood pouring from the victim, who was approximately 19 or 20 years old. The victim had severe cuts and was in desperate need of help.
- Victim suffered gashes on his arm.
 - There was a severe puncture wound under his arm.
 - Andy quickly fashioned a tourniquet using his belt.
 - The victim pleaded, “Please call my dad, I don’t want to die.”

Return to Huntingdon Station
After the attack, Dayna and Andy fled and were offered a complimentary room at a local pub for the night. They later returned to Huntingdon station to continue their journey to Milton Keynes.
Reflecting on the incident, Andy expressed relief that they were not injured, saying, “We feel very lucky today. If we had been sat at the other end of the carriage, we might not be here.” He still wore the blood-stained jumper he had on during the attack, emphasizing the gravity of the situation.
Emergency Response
The quick response of emergency services was crucial in addressing the aftermath of the stabbings. However, the condition of the two critically injured individuals remains a source of concern.
This distressing confrontation with a train knifeman underscores the urgent need for enhanced security measures on public transport systems.
