His tenure with the Pacers spanned ten seasons, during which he set franchise records and led the team to notable playoff appearances. Yet, despite these achievements, Turner felt that the lack of progress in contract negotiations with Indiana felt like a “rug pull.”
Turner joined the Bucks, seeking a competitive environment and better compensation. He stated, “Ultimately it was about staying competitive… I saw a chance to remain competitive here.” His contract with the Bucks is worth approximately $109 million over four years, significantly surpassing the offers he received from the Pacers, which reportedly did not exceed four years and $96 million.
