Nintendo has released its financial report for November 2025, covering the first half of the fiscal year up to September. The report highlights significant sales figures for both the Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo’s November 2025 Financial Overview

  • Overall original Switch sales this period: 1.89 million units

Performance of Nintendo Switch 2

Since its launch on June 5, 2025, the Switch 2 has performed exceptionally well. Key software titles contributing to this success include:

  • Mario Kart World: 9.57 million units sold
  • Donkey Kong Bananza: 3.49 million units sold

The Switch 2 also supports games from the original Switch, which have maintained steady sales, contributing to a total software sales figure of 20.62 million units for the new hardware. Original Switch sales included:

  • Standard Switch: 0.55 million units
  • Switch OLED: 0.91 million units
  • Switch Lite: 0.43 million units

Digital Sales and IP Revenue

Nintendo’s digital sales for its dedicated platforms reached 155.5 billion yen, reflecting a 2.8% decline year-on-year. This downturn was attributed to unfavorable foreign exchange rates and a decline in download-only software sales.

The company’s IP-related business generated 33.3 billion yen, marking a 12.4% decrease year-on-year, primarily driven by a drop in movie-related revenue.

Overall Financial Performance

The total sales for this reporting period stood at 1,099.5 billion yen, with international sales accounting for 79.5% of this total at 874.3 billion yen. The company reported:

  • Profit attributable to owners: 198.9 billion yen
  • Extraordinary income from investment securities: 32.3 billion yen

Looking Ahead

Upcoming releases include Pokémon Legends: Z-A for Switch 2 and Kirby Air Riders, scheduled for November, followed by Metroid Prime 4: Beyond in December. Nintendo continues to aim for growth by leveraging both new and existing titles to expand its user base.

Furthermore, due to sales trends observed in the first half of the fiscal year, Nintendo has revised its financial forecasts. Changes to the dividend policy will also take effect from the year-end dividend for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026.
