Trinity Christian College, a private liberal arts institution known for its 66 years of educational excellence, will cease operations after the 2025-2026 academic year. The last commencement ceremony is scheduled for May 8, 2026.

Reasons for Closure

The decision to close the college was made by the Board of Trustees after a comprehensive review of its financial status and strategic options. Despite attempts to adapt its educational model, Trinity faced significant challenges:

Changes in donor support

These issues led to the conclusion that the school could not sustain an affordable Christian educational experience.

Support for Students and Staff

Jeanine Mozie, the acting president of Trinity Christian College, emphasized the institution’s commitment to supporting its community during this transition. The college will provide resources for students to complete their degrees or transfer to other regional Christian colleges.

Faculty and staff will also receive assistance in finding new job opportunities. During the final academic year, Trinity plans to celebrate its legacy with alumni, donors, and the community.

Founded in 1959, the college has educated thousands of students and achieved an impressive 98% graduate placement rate. U.S. News & World Report recognized Trinity as one of the Top Regional Colleges in the Midwest and a Top Value institution.

The college offers over 70 programs in bachelor’s, master’s, and adult degree completion studies. Its emphasis on justice, humility, and love has helped alumni become leaders in various fields.
