Overnight Blaze Damages Calgary’s Bridgette Bar
A fire overnight severely damaged Bridgette Bar, a well-known restaurant located in Calgary’s Beltline neighborhood. The Calgary Fire Department reported that the incident occurred around 1:40 a.m. on Tuesday.
Details of the Fire at Bridgette Bar
When emergency crews arrived, they encountered flames and smoke emanating from the restaurant’s back deck. Firefighters quickly worked to contain the blaze using hoses.
Extent of Damage

During the response, firefighters discovered a locked storage area beneath the deck. They had to break the lock to ensure the fire was extinguished completely and to assess potential damages.
Emergency Response
A total of 11 fire trucks and 32 firefighters responded to the scene. One firefighter sustained minor injuries while attempting to unlock the storage area. He received first aid on-site.
Utilities to Bridgette Bar were shut off by personnel from ATCO and Enmax while firefighters continued to assess the situation. The Calgary Fire Department has confirmed that the fire originated from the back deck, but details regarding its cause remain unclear, and the investigation is ongoing.
