Colts Activate Jaylon Jones for Week 9
Cornerback Jaylon Jones has been activated from injured reserve after recovering from a hamstring injury he sustained during Week 1. This injury sidelined him for seven games, making his return particularly crucial for the Colts’ secondary.
Jones’ Recovery and Impact
The Colts initiated Jones’ 21-day practice window last week, allowing him to gradually return to full participation. He was limited in practices prior to the Colts’ Week 8 game but has since improved and fully participated in practices this week. Head coach Shane Steichen noted that Jones is “progressing very well.”
His presence is expected to provide much-needed stability to the secondary, especially with Charvarius Ward Sr. still on injured reserve, slated to return no sooner than Week 12. Jones brings considerable experience, having played 35 games with 27 starts, boasting two interceptions, 15 pass break-ups, and 144 total tackles in his three seasons with the team.
