Election Day Voting Commences Nationwide
November 4 marks an important date as voting begins across the nation. Pace University students and faculty are encouraged to participate in the electoral process this year.
Voting Locations and Transportation
This year’s polling place is not located on campus; therefore, The Center for Community Action and Research (CCAR) will provide complimentary transportation. Registered voters from Pace University can cast their ballots at the Briarcliff Manor Public Library.
Transportation will be available from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM to facilitate access for all voters.
Local Candidates and Measures
In Westchester County, voters will be able to select candidates for various local offices including council members, justices, and town clerks. Specific towns involved include Pleasantville and Pelham.
- In Pleasantville, a significant ballot measure will move local voting from March to November.
- Votes will also be cast for representatives at the county level.
New York City Mayoral Election
Simultaneously, New York City will conduct its mayoral election, the first since 2021. This high-profile race features:
- Zohran Mamdani (Democratic nominee)
- Andrew Cuomo (Independent)
- Curtis Sliwa (Republican nominee)
Voting sites will also be available on the Pace NYC campus, allowing students and faculty to express their opinions in this critical election.
The Importance of Participation
Although the New York City election receives much attention, the voting in Westchester County is equally vital. Each ballot influences local governance and community issues.
To assist voters, CCAR has provided a document addressing frequently asked questions regarding the voting process.
To ensure the integrity of the election, no photography is allowed within 100 feet of the polling site. Every vote matters, and your participation will shape the future of your community.
