- Memphis vs. Georgia
- Virginia vs. Ole Miss

CFP committee chair Mack Rhoades explained that the committee conducted rigorous discussions about the top teams. The analytics indicated close competition between Ohio State and Indiana, both excelling offensively and defensively.
SEC and Big Ten Dominance
The SEC led all conferences with nine teams in the top 25, followed by the Big Ten with seven, including Oregon. The ACC placed five teams while the Big 12 had three among the rankings.
Oregon’s position sparked discussions about its strength of schedule and overall performance. Despite one loss to Indiana, the committee lauded their skill position players.
Notre Dame and Miami’s Comparative Rankings
Currently ranked 12th, Notre Dame is poised for a playoff opportunity despite two losses. Both defeats came narrowly, against Texas A&M and Miami, who are ranked 18th. Miami’s losses hinder their position despite notable victories.
Texas sits at number 11 after a strong win against Vanderbilt. They also hold a crucial victory over Oklahoma, placing them ahead of the Sooners, who share the same record.
