LONGi Ships 63 GW Solar Modules in First Nine Months of 2025
LONGi Green Energy Technology has achieved significant milestones in the solar energy sector during the first nine months of 2025. The company reported cumulative sales of 63.43 gigawatts (GW) of solar cells and modules, marking a notable achievement for the period.
Sales Breakdown and Growth Analysis
The total sales figure includes 14.48 GW of back contact (BC) modules, which utilize the advanced Hybrid Passivated Back Contact (HPBC) 2.0 technology. In the first half of 2025 alone, LONGi shipped 39.57 GW of modules, contributing to overall cell and module shipments of 41.85 GW.
Silicon Wafer Shipments
During these nine months, LONGi’s silicon wafer shipments reached 52.08 GW, with 24.72 GW sold externally. Estimates suggest that the company’s cell and module shipments for the third quarter of 2025 stood at approximately 21.58 GW. This represents a robust year-on-year growth of nearly 24% compared to 51.23 GW shipped in the same period of 2024.
Revenue Performance
Despite strong sales performance, LONGi faced financial challenges. In the third quarter of 2025, operating revenues amounted to RMB 18.1 billion. This figure reflects a year-on-year decline of 9.8% and a quarter-on-quarter decrease of 5.5%. The company incurred a net loss of RMB 834 million, although this was an improvement from RMB 1.2 billion reported in Q3 2024.
- Total revenues for 9M 2025: RMB 50.9 billion
- Decline compared to 9M 2024: 13.1% (RMB 58.6 billion)
- Net loss: RMB 3.4 billion, down from RMB 6.5 billion in 2024
Market Insights and Strategic Plans
The surge in module shipments indicates a recovery within the solar photovoltaic (PV) industry, which had previously struggled with overcapacity and lowered pricing. According to reports, China accounts for 55% of LONGi’s BC sales, while international markets represent about 45%. The company aims to broaden its market presence, especially in Europe, to increase its BC product sales.
