Dylan Dreyer Captures Her Sons’ First Suburban Halloween in Photos
Dylan Dreyer recently shared her family’s delightful experience of celebrating Halloween in the suburbs for the first time. The TODAY meteorologist, along with her sons Calvin, 8, Oliver, 5, and Rusty, 4, has transitioned from city life in Manhattan to a quieter suburban setting.
Dylan Dreyer’s Suburban Halloween Experience
This shift has brought new perspectives on holiday festivities, as Dreyer noted that the celebrations in the suburbs begin much earlier than in the city. She remarked, “At 5:30, they were already tired,” during a conversation with her co-hosts on TODAY.
Costumes and Creativity
- Calvin dressed as a New England Patriots football player, a nod to his father’s Boston roots.
- Oliver and Rusty transformed into Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
The excitement of trick-or-treating marked their suburban Halloween debut. Once Rusty finished collecting treats, he surprised everyone by offering to hand out candy at home. However, his enthusiasm for sharing was limited. Dreyer humorously recounted his Halloween policy, stating, “He would hand out just one Hershey’s Kiss,” which left many visiting children disappointed.
Adjusting to Suburban Life
Dylan has expressed mixed feelings about leaving New York City. She reflected, “I’m so sad about it but also so ready at the same time!” She highlighted the challenges of city living, particularly the limited space for her active sons. The move to the suburbs allows her children to have more room to play and run freely.
Looking Ahead to Halloween 2025
As part of TODAY’s upcoming 2025 Halloween Extravaganza, Dylan is set to channel Frankie Valli of the Four Seasons. Sporting a striking resemblance to the singer with slicked-back hair, she was so convincing that Oliver did not recognize her. Dylan mentioned that her family is fond of The Four Seasons, often singing their songs at home.
This Halloween marked a significant milestone for the Dreyer family, showcasing the joy of suburban living and the importance of family traditions during the festive season.
