Wichita County Primaries: Candidate Filing Opens Saturday
Texas election officials are preparing for the upcoming voting cycle, following the end of recent elections. The candidate filing for the March 2026 party primaries opens on Saturday and will remain available until December 8, 2025. Primary Election Day is scheduled for March 3, 2026, which will determine party candidates for various state and county positions in the General Election set for November 3, 2026.
Wichita County Primaries: Key Dates and Positions
The Texas Secretary of State has confirmed that significant offices will be contested during the primaries. These include:

- All U.S. Representatives
- Governor
- Lieutenant Governor
- Attorney General
- All State Representative Seats
In particular, House District 69, which encompasses Wichita County, will be included in this election cycle. Additionally, 16 state senate seats are on the ballot, including Senate District 28, covering parts of Wichita County and Wichita Falls.
