Royal Caribbean Expands 2027-2028 Cruise Offerings
Royal Caribbean is expanding its cruise offerings for 2027 and 2028 by adding numerous Caribbean sailings. This week, the cruise line announced new itineraries featuring both 7-night and short cruises available year-round. These cruises will primarily depart from Florida, accommodating a variety of travelers seeking tropical vacations.
Expanded Cruise Options
The latest deployment introduces five cruise ships, central to Royal Caribbean’s operations. The offerings include:
- 7-night Caribbean cruises
- 3- and 4-night getaway cruises
These additions will cater to vacationers looking for quintessential warm-weather escapes.
Star of the Seas
Star of the Seas, the newest addition to the fleet and considered the best cruise ship globally, will set sail on 7-night itineraries from Port Canaveral. The ship debuted in summer 2025 and offers routes to destinations like:
- Mexico
- U.S. Virgin Islands
- Perfect Day at CocoCay
- Labadee, Jamaica
- Samaná, Dominican Republic
- Roatan
Most itineraries will navigate the eastern Caribbean, with popular stops at CocoCay, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten.
Short Cruise Offerings
Royal Caribbean continues to innovate with the Utopia of the Seas and Wonder of the Seas. Both ships will offer short cruises from the Orlando and Miami areas, respectively, with itineraries including:
- Nassau, Bahamas
- Perfect Day at CocoCay
Utopia debuted in 2024 and is marketed as ideal for first-time cruisers, while Wonder follows the same cruise pattern with sailings every Monday and Friday.
Harmony of the Seas
Harmony of the Seas will primarily offer 7-night cruises from Port Canaveral. Itineraries will include both eastern and western Caribbean destinations. The ship is due for a significant upgrade in early 2026, with enhancements to the pool deck and additional dining options.
Radiance of the Seas from Tampa
Unlike its larger counterparts, Radiance of the Seas will serve as a homeport in Tampa. This Radiance Class ship offers a cozy experience for over 2,000 passengers. It will provide 4-, 5-, and 7-night cruises to the western Caribbean, often featuring popular stops such as Cozumel and Costa Maya. Notably, Costa Maya will undergo a transformation into Perfect Day Mexico by late 2027.
Future Plans and Icon of the Seas
Notably missing from this deployment is Icon of the Seas, suggesting potential strategic plans for the ship. Currently, there are no scheduled 7-night cruises from Miami beyond April 2027. This opens up speculation about the ship’s new homeport.
Looking Ahead
Royal Caribbean plans to announce further deployments soon, expanding options from the Northeast, Texas, and California. The next wave of sailings will commence the week of November 10, with additional details expected to unfold in upcoming announcements.
This expansion marks an exciting period for Royal Caribbean, with increased opportunities for travelers to explore the beautiful Caribbean waters.
