JetBlue Expands with New Airport and Two Additional Routes

JetBlue Airlines is set to expand its services with new routes and destinations. Starting March 5, 2026, the airline will introduce nonstop flights to Destin-Fort Walton Beach, Florida, marking its entry into the Panhandle region.

New Routes and Flight Details

The airline will operate two key routes from major cities:

  • New York (JFK to Destin-Fort Walton Beach): Five flights weekly, departing at 7 a.m., arriving at 9:08 a.m. Return flights leave at 10 a.m. and land at 1:38 p.m.
  • Boston (BOS to Destin-Fort Walton Beach): Five flights weekly, departing at 12:40 p.m. and arriving at 3 p.m. Return flights depart at 3:55 p.m., landing at 7:51 p.m.

Both routes will utilize Airbus A320 aircraft. Notably, these destinations do not have service from any other airlines at this time.

JetBlue’s Commitment to Florida

This expansion reflects JetBlue’s ongoing commitment to Florida. The state has consistently been one of the airline’s strongest markets. JetBlue already operates major routes from cities such as Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Tampa, West Palm Beach, and Fort Myers.

Dave Jehn, the airline’s vice president of network planning and airline partnerships, stated that adding Destin-Fort Walton Beach enhances choices for travelers from both Boston and New York. It also provides easier connections for Emerald Coast residents to reach the Northeast and other regions.

Growth in Florida Routes

In the previous year, JetBlue announced or launched over 30 new routes within Florida. This strategic expansion underlines the growing demand for travel to and from the state.

With the new services to Destin-Fort Walton Beach, JetBlue reinforces its position as a leading airline in the region, catering to both residents and tourists looking for convenient travel options.
