China is making waves in the world of robotics and artificial intelligence with its latest innovation. A humanoid robot named Kuavo recently participated in the torch relay for the 2025 National Games. This impressive display of technology demonstrated the robot’s lifelike running movements.

Standing at 1.47 meters tall, Kuavo ran approximately 100 meters while securely holding a 1.6-kilogram torch. The relay took place at Shenzhen’s Civic Centre on Sunday. The robot was handed the torch by retired badminton champion Yu Yang, who played a pivotal role in this historic event.

Kuavo then passed the flame to Wang Yuning, a local high school student passionate about rocket science. This event marks a significant moment in robotics as it forms part of the broader 2025 National Games torch relay, which connects multiple locations.
