Fubo Unveils Exciting Channel Store Platform for Add-On Subscriptions
Fubo has officially launched a new platform, the Fubo Channel Store, aimed at enhancing the viewing experience for its subscribers. This innovative service allows users to purchase access to various third-party apps directly through Fubo, bundled with their monthly subscription.
Overview of the Fubo Channel Store
The Fubo Channel Store acts as a centralized location for Fubo subscribers to explore and subscribe to third-party services. This initiative was unveiled a year after the company began offering standalone subscriptions to services such as NBA League Pass, Paramount Plus with Showtime, and FanDuel Sports Network. However, NBA League Pass is no longer available through Fubo, following a rights agreement with Amazon’s Prime Video.
Available Services
The Fubo Channel Store continues to offer Paramount Plus and FanDuel Sports Network. Additionally, it has expanded its offerings to include:
- MGM Plus
- Starz
- Hallmark Plus
- DAZN One
Flexible Access for Subscribers
Unlike competitors such as YouTube TV, Fubo does not require viewers to have a traditional pay TV subscription to access third-party apps. This flexibility allows consumers to opt for standalone app subscriptions while still enjoying premium features.
Subscribers who acquire services linked to linear offerings, like Paramount Plus with Showtime, will also gain access to cable channels associated with those services. This means they can enjoy extra channels, such as Showtime 2 and Showcase, without needing a regular TV package.
Streaming Options and Benefits
Moreover, Fubo provides access to a selection of over 200 free, ad-supported channels for those who choose standalone apps. This feature is generally exclusive to traditional pay TV customers.
Company Insights
According to Fubo’s latest financial report, the service has surpassed 1.63 million subscribers. However, the company has yet to disclose how many of its customers utilize the free, ad-supported streaming TV service.
David Gandler, CEO of Fubo, emphasized the company’s commitment to enhancing user experiences. He stated, “We hear consumers’ frustration with having to switch between multiple apps to access their favorite content. The Fubo Channel Store offers an aggregated experience for standalone plans.”
Fubo’s innovative platform aims to streamline content access while addressing consumer needs in the evolving streaming landscape.
