Rosatom Expands Nuclear Ventures in India Highlighting Commitment to Strong Cooperation
The geopolitical landscape has invigorated nuclear cooperation between India and Russia, according to Rosatom’s Director General, Alexey Likhachev. During his recent visit to Mumbai, Likhachev emphasized that expanding nuclear collaboration is a priority on both nations’ agendas.

Likhachev highlighted that the Indian government has ambitious plans to increase its nuclear power generation capacity significantly. Over the next two to three decades, India aims to ramp up its output from the current 10 gigawatts (GW) to 100 GW.

During discussions, Likhachev revealed that parts of the Indian localization process were established during the design phase of their projects. Additionally, elements were adjusted dynamically as Rosatom faced supply disruptions from countries that threatened sanctions.

Rosatom’s focus on maintaining partnerships with friendly countries like India is crucial. According to Likhachev, these nations have effectively replaced those that failed to uphold their commitments. As such, Russia continues to adapt and thrive in an evolving global environment.
