Rob Kuhn, a meteorologist from Environment Canada, reported this record-breaking snowfall on social media. The Eric D. Soulis Weather Station at the University of Waterloo provided detailed updates, indicating that by 10 a.m. on Sunday, 6 centimeters had already accumulated, reaching 13 centimeters by 11 p.m.

Impact on Roads and Travel

The storm created hazardous conditions for drivers. Tow truck drivers, including James Michael from the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), experienced a surge in calls for assistance. He noted that slippery roads led to numerous accidents:

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) reported about 220 collisions within 24 hours.
Another 120 incidents involved vehicles stuck in ditches.
Waterloo Regional Police Service recorded 45 vehicle collision reports during the same period.
