W&L Secures At-Large Bid, Faces Denison at NCAA First Round
Washington and Lee University (W&L) has secured an at-large bid for the 2025 NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Championship. The announcement came from the NCAA on Monday morning, confirming W&L as one of the 21 at-large selections in this year’s tournament.
First Round Matchup Against Denison
The Generals, holding an overall record of 11-4-5, will face off against the No. 25 Denison Big Red (14-2-3) in the first round. This match is set to take place at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania on Saturday.
Path to the Championship
Both W&L and Denison received at-large bids after falling short in their respective conference championships. W&L lost in the ODAC championship game, while Denison was eliminated in the NCAC final. Dickinson College and North Carolina Wesleyan have automatically qualified for the tournament by winning their conference championships.
For the tournament, W&L is ranked No. 29 in the final NCAA Performance Indicator (NPI), just two spots above Denison.

- Second Round: Winners of the first round will compete on Sunday for a chance to reach the Round of 16
